This is a video of the E-Flite Rare Bear using a take off doll so as to avoid the dreaded hand launch. Today the grass was too long and therefore could not control the torque effect which makes the dolly want to turn left. The Rare Bear has a stronger torque effect than say my Parkzone Corsair which uses this dolly. I tried on packed gravel and still had torque effect, but had better luck controlling it with the rudder. Also at the end is drop out landing gear fashioned for the Rochobby Strega. If it works, I will do the same for the Rare Bear by inserting small tubes in the fuselage about half inch from the leading edge of the wing along with a tail skid. I use drop out gear on my Parkzone Extra 300 and it works very well. The Extra 300 is posted in another You Tube Video. The launch dolly may not be the best idea for the Rare Bear, but I am hoping the drop out landing gear (with larger wheels than shown here) will be the best alternative to hand launching.
