Hi LEGO fans! Check out our LEGO Star Wars BB-8 review, fresh from our Force Friday LEGO Store haul. After the BB-8 unboxing, we complete a 90 second LEGO speed build and review the LEGO BB8 in crisp 4K high definition. This is the hottest new LEGO Star Wars set from the new line of The Last Jedi sets and LEGO have absolutely hit this one out of the park.
Weighing at at 1,106 pieces, the LEGO BB-8 is a perfect brick-built replica of everyone's second favorite LEGO Star Wars droid (come on guys, remember R2-D2?). The UCS R2-D2 also shows up in this LEGO BB-8 review video and confirms my suspicions that this is every bit an Ultimate Collector Series BB-8 if not in name, then in build quality and substance. BB-8 is an awesome LEGO build and worthy of the UCS badge, even though he didn't get one.
LEGO's BB-8 stands about 9 inches tall and took about 90 minutes to build. He's mostly a display piece but does have some very cool features. BB-8's head can rotate through 360 degrees by turning a panel on his left hand-side. There is also a very cool head-bobbing function which replicates the way BB-8 moves really well. On the front panel, there is an access hatch which opens to reveal a welding torch which you can deploy using a dial on his right panel.
The Ultimate Collector Series style display stand is perfect for BB-8 and also has the UCS style sticker. I have to believe this was designed to be a LEGO UCS BB-8 and that the Millenium Falcon took over. In any case, this is every bit a UCS BB-8 and a great deal at the price point for an incredibly acomplished LEGO Star Wars The Last Jedi set. I can't say enough nice things about BB-8.
