Ya' can't charge frozen Lithium. It's no secret, Lithium Batteries are fantastic, they can absorb a much higher percentage of the solar power as compared to Lead Acid batteries which lose much of the power to heat. This higher efficiency effectively doubles the amount of power we collect from the solar array.
Li-Fe batteries can also sustain high current discharge without voltage sag, allowing us to use high current loads like an Induction Cooktop and Air Conditioner... All Powered by Solar!
But they aren't without their own Achilles heel, and that's that they can't be recharged when frozen. In this video, I show how I installed a silicone heater mat in the pack and how I plan to use PID controller to keep a stable temperature.
