She makes food and travel TV shows such as When Patrick Met Kylie, The Dolce Vita Diary, When in Rome, When in Florence and Amore Al Dente, which air on TLN Canada, Discovery TLC Asia, TLC Australia, TLC Latin America, Fox Life India, TV2 Norway and other networks in 68 countries.
After a recent run of bad luck with a difficult break-up and the flu, Kylie arrives in Mexico City feeling exhausted and looking for a place to lift her spirits. Within hours, she is feeling full of life after being welcomed into the home of Blair, an expat American, and her Mexican husband, Jorge, who have followed love across borders to set up their life together in Mexico City. Their beautiful flat is the perfect place for Kylie to unwind and appreciate the vitality of Mexican culture.
As soon as she arrives, her experience is elevated far beyond any normal hotel stay, as she is greeted with homemade traditional Mexican treats, and stays up all night chatting to her wonderful hosts, sharing stories of what it is like to leave it all for love and travel. Feeling refreshed and yearning to explore the bustling city, Kylie follows her hosts’ advice and goes to discover the local street food scene, just a stone’s throw away from the apartment. With some of the best street food in the world at her fingertips, she discovers a true taste of Mexico with fresh fruit juices full of the ripest limes, papayas and pineapples, along with authentic cheesy tacos and delicious quesadillas cooked over an open grill.
Ever the romantic optimist, Kylie is truly inspired by Blair and Jorge’s story of how they followed their hearts to make their cross-border love a reality. Jorge explains that the openness and freedom you experience when travelling to new places helps you to learn to fall in love – to find open doors and grab every new opportunity with both hands.
