Have you lost more than 1 1/2" in height? If so, some of that loss of height may be from loss of bone density and spinal compression. If you are over age 50, if you know someone over age 50, or if you already know you have low bone density (osteoporosis or osteopenia), you need to watch this video. Many people have no idea that certain movements (spine flexion, end range rotation, or a combined movement of spine flexion with rotation) which are found in many exercise classes or even activities of daily living, can be harmful to the bones.
It is very important that you modify your movements accordingly if you have low bone density to avoid the risk of compression fractures in the spine.
