Using this hybrid process you can make colored tile using waste plate glass.
Best source for those without access to clean crushed is broken tempered. Any auto glass shop has it (don't get the laminated - you'll never get it off) and others who do windows & doors. For a while I was getting broken tempered from an Ikea just from broken table tops.
