This is a video showing you why you shouldn't throw away your old dual core PC from 8 years ago. If it still works, then there are a couple things you can do to make it better!
The first thing you can do is add a graphics card to it, such as an Nvidia GTX 650 or AMD Radeon HD 7750.
The second is add more RAM, this PC came with 2x 512MB sticks of DDR2 RAM, so I put 2 more 512MB sticks in.
If you do that, you can make your old PC work like new!.. sort of. Like a new 350-450$ laptop.
But, with either of those graphics cards it will be able to run games such as Minecraft maxed out at 30FPS, a smooth frame rate when sitting on a couch a good distance away.
With the increased RAM, you will be able to load more applications at once, giving it more multitasking ability. You will also be able to run multiple monitors because of the graphics card!
