I first learned about foot vises from Andrew @blacksmithtools on Instagram. Then, I got to play with Jimmy DiResta's at his first blacksmithing class and I fell in love. From that moment, I knew I needed one.
Some technical stuff: The angle in the slot on the static jaw clevis arms are intentional so that the dynamic jaw doesn’t slide up when there is pressure applied. I will eventually add leveling feet or bolt it down. I might even fill the dynamic jaw with sand to add weight and reduce ring.
