In an experiment in reducing waste and energy I tried making a surfboard from recycled, well upcycled, polystyrene boxes - without first putting them through the recycling process and a stringer from some spare wood in the garage. Also went for an asymmetrical shape, just to make things even more interesting. Tried to keep the theme with the fins, tailpad and wax. The outcome - a rocking good surfboard, less waste and less energy used.
Some challenges along the way, shaping around glue joins, off gassing during glassing, less dense foam (= glassed it heavier)
