I got this fantastic book for my birthday and I must say I love it. I already made a few recipes from it at home and my friends and family loves it. My favorite is the sweet potato agnolotti with sage cream, brown butter and prosciutto.
I also love the Chocolate Fondant with Coffee Cream and Chocolate Dentelle. The Full recipes are fully explained and easy to follow. It's quite an heavy book and there is sooo MUCH informations on it. I love the design of the pages and the beautiful pictures. It explains everything about the Philosophy and the way of life of the best restaurant in the world that is the French Laundry.
The French Laundry is located in Northern California in a beautiful countryside up to San Francisco. It is a beautiful place that breath peace, indulgence and refinement. The Chef Thomas Keller is one of my favorite chef. In contrary to a lot of other "chefs", (mean, screaming drunk, violent toward their staff and disgusting).
I admire his zen attitude and his focus on what is very important: the costumer experience and the quality of the food.
The best think to do once in your life would be to have a dining experience at the French Laundry. If you can not right now fly to California, I strongly recommend you get this fabulous and sophisticated book while you are putting this next trip on your to do list.
