My mother recently started painting again so I wanted a gift she could use to show off her artistic side.
These were all scrap pieces I cut to rough size. I sanded 1 side flat on each piece and put a v groove in. From there I could lay the colored lead into the groove and glue both sides back together.
After the glue dried it was just a lot of cutting and sanding to get the look I was going for. I didn't want round pencils, but more like the carpenter style.
I gave them all a coat of spray finish and coated the bottoms in a light blue paint I grabbed from the "Oops" shelf at Home Depot.
And to finish the video off I printed out a Happy Mother's Day picture and colored it in! Happy Mother's Day Mom!!
