A new form nanoprobe ( or nanobot if you'd prefer ) is under development. An extremely flexible nanoscopic transmitter that can drift through and bend with human blood vessels. Injected into the cebral circulation, these tiny devices would be reading the electrical activity of surrounding neurons, and when the person's head is placed inside a special bay, something similar to an MRI machine, they would constantly send back signals by the microsecond about the exact levels of activity they were picking up around them, down to individual neuron clusters!
Obviously, this will allow for astonishing precision in brain imaging and brain activity monitoring, as said, down to the level of individual neuron clusters!
