The following shortened documentary was created to raise awareness about Mission of Hope Haiti and to spark initiative among youth to become involved. The campaigning to do so will begin in December of 2011. Check out Mission of Hope Haiti and all that they do at MOHHAITI.ORG!
Victoria Kohl, won the Miami Herald Silver Knight award in the category of New Media for this documentary and all of her work in community locally and in Haiti. "Raising Hope in Haiti" won a 1st Place "Emmy" in Long Form: Non-Fiction for the 2012 Suncoast High School Student Television Awards for Excellence (Suncoast Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences). This is the same organization that sponsors the real "Emmys" you see on TV. This also snagged a 1st Place at the District and Regional levels for the FAME (Florida Association for Media in Education) Jim Harbin Student Media Festival. State results coming soon!
