All the standard yard blower/mulcher/vacs suffer from wimpy suction when it comes to getting small debris out of your yard - things like peach pits, acorns, etc. In other words, they don't suck enough.

Over the years, many people have commented that I could skip this build and use a Shop-Vac. I have several shop vacs, and my largest still does not offer as much suction. But, even it did, I would still not have had the fun of making this thing!
Many people also comment that the acorns will damage the impeller. What is not shown in this video is an intermediate chamber I added, consisting of a 5 gallon bucket with an intake and exit hose. Although the acorns never hurt the impeller, an occasional small rock caused concern, and the bucket catches those.
