Daman is divided by the Daman Ganga River into two parts — Nani-daman (nani meaning "small") and Moti-daman (moti meaning "big"). Ironically, Nani-daman is the larger. The downtown area holds most of the important entities like the major hospitals, supermarkets and major residential areas. Moti-daman is mainly the old city.
We started bike ride from Vashi in the morngin around 6AM. total distance approx 200 KM. we reached there by 10.
You can also go by train, for which you will have to get down on Vapi station and from there local taxi, Daman is 18kms from Vapi and you hardly get any local cabs/taxis.
Recommended way is road way and if you have your own vehicle thats well and good. you won't get rented bikes in DAMAN.
we stayed there for 2 nights, there is not much to see in DAMAN, hence we decided to go to Silvassa one day and that was a great decision. If you are going there for just relaxation then you can spend 2-3 days in Daman but if you want to explore then 1-2 days are enough.
In case you are wondering which camera I use so let me tell you I don't have any DSLR so I record everything with my phone's camera, thats the only gadget I have currently.
