Nintendo Co. Ltd. holds an annual Game Seminar program, which involves a 10-month course in video game development, at the end of which the students' games are broadcast by Nintendo through the Wii's Nintendo Channel, DS Download Stations, and Nintendo Zone (game downloads at McDonald's in Japan).
ototo is the third of four games from the 2009 Game Seminar to be shared with players in 2010; beginning on April 7, 8, and 9, respectively, the game will be offered for two full weeks on the aforementioned services, after which it will be replaced by the next game in the series. It is a rhythm game, in which players mimic the tunes of their undersea friends before challenging them to do the same.
