Great review of the Nitecore SRT7

We tested it over the weekends from 23 to 26 May 2013 at Tioman. After 5 dive and 30 meters depth, all I have to say is WOW!
I'm currently using a couple of lights, Jetbeam RRT21 (Non-Diving Light), Zebra Light SC600W (Non-Diving Light), UK SL3, Inon LE700W and Big Blue. It's hard to compare which one is better so what I have to say about Nitecore SRT7 is, it's probably the only light that can do almost everything.
I love the Red, Blue or Green light settings. The Red is especially good for critters and the blue is awesome if you want to bring out the Bio luminescence of the night creatures and corals.
The other thing I like about the light is it's beacon setting which I usually leave it on so that I can look like a flashing airplane underwater although I'm not sure if it's distracting.
Battery life is good too. We did an 80 minutes night dive and it lasted throughout and the single 18650 battery didn't take too long to recharge as compared to my other 18650 battery powered lights.
960 lumens comes handy when you need it although I don't usually like to turn it on full blast otherwise it won't be a night dive and remember to be careful where you point the light because it can be blinding.
We did a shore dive and my kids were able to spot us and even tell which was simply the brightest torch underwater from the shore. The throw is really good for distance and the hot spot is surprisingly not too bad too.
In my opinion, if you can only buy one light, Nitecore SRT7 is the one you should consider.
