A year ago I added a video - Norad Santa Tracker - The UK in 2014 and here is the link -
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LL2OazaBeWU
I thought I would give it another go this year and try and get it from different perspectives. It can be quite difficult because the Norad website map tends to turn you left when you think that you should go right - up instead of down and so on (plus the site itself changes the camera direction too!) By the time you have a handle on it - it might be too late and Santa has already flown past your house. Santa reached Paris at around 10.45 (UK Time) and then headed down to Spain and many parts of West Africa before heading north again. He finally reached the UK about an hour later.
I found it interesting this year that the zoom level that I used for some of this video tended to pick out villages instead of large cities or towns although Santa did take the same route as a year ago by heading across the UK via Exeter, London, Cardiff, Cambridge, Bakewell and Edinburgh.
Why Santa does not go from Exeter to Cardiff and then across to London is a bit of a mystery. Then he could go up to Cambridge and across to Birmingham and be able to have time to add that important bit in! Also this year I made sure to cover all of the UK and therefore the journey ends at Belfast in Northern Ireland.
Out of interest - after he leaves Northern Ireland, Santa heads for Eire with fly overs at Dublin and then Cork before heading up to the Faroe Islands, down to the Azores and then onto South America.
Just like last year no copyright intention is intended with the track choice (it just seemed to be another appropriate tune) and there is no commercial gain intended in the production of this video - it has been made just for fun. If there is a problem at all I will gladly make any necessary changes.
