Well. I had intended to fit a couple of quick flights in at Perry field in Orrington this afternoon after dumping the demolished remains of my shed off at the dump. Spent all day dismantling the wreckage from last weeks wind storm. Charged a battery for my Timber and one of my HF P-51s. Dark comes quick around here this time of year. I realized that I wouldn't make Orrington before dark. So I decided to check out a spot nearby that I had looked at earlier in the Spring. It is a Large recreational field / Soccer field out behind a Truck driving schools driver training lot in Hampden. They had been constructing a new road that would pass by and access that field all summer long. Now it is mostly finished and has very little traffic. It is paved. It also connects to a dirt drive that goes to the Truck Driving schools training lot. So I have the whole soccer field (short grass) to use and possibly the paved drive (new road) as well as the dirt drive to the truck lot to fly off of. A lot of landing options for risky night flights.
