This is a video showing a visualization system based on the automobile accidents that have occurred in Oktibbeha County, Mississippi from 2004 to 2012. This system was created as a final project for CSE 8990: Information Visualization at Mississippi State University in Fall 2012.
Many tools were used in the making of this visualization. Data were encoded in the GeoJSON format, and all calculations are done client-side. The implementation makes use of jQuery and jQuery UI, Protovis (for the linear color scale), and Leaflet for the map UI and CloudMade for the map tile server. ArcGIS and QGIS were used in preparing the data to be plotted.

Beware that this rendering is rather inefficient and the entire download size is around 15 MB, but even such, it still manages to render and work well on 3rd generation iPad.
