A copy of the Thames and Kosmos radio ace one valve regenerative receiver using the 12 au7 / ecc82 valve. The receiver is homemade with all the parts from the junk box or collection of components. The receiver is a copy of Franks (VK6FH) revised circuit diagram and uses a more modern component the LM386 audio amplifier chip to boost the audio for a front pannel speaker instead of high impedance headphones. In my version I have also used plug in coils instead of the original spiderweb coil. I was inspired to build the radio from Peter Parkers youtube video VK3YE and had some vintage components already lying around the shack for years from a friend having a shack clearout. Peters video can be found at the following link= https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=orSlJ9oJ3d0 Franks circuit can be found at= http://www.vk6fh.com/vk6fh/12au7regen.htm The cool 386 site radio ace = http://members.iinet.net.au/~cool386/kits/ace.html A good starter project for anyone wanting to build a valve receiver without a leathal voltage.
