The Open Science Conference 2017 was the 4th international conference of the Leibniz Research Alliance Science 2.0. It is a continuation and development of the former Science 2.0 Conference. It is dedicated to the Open Science movement and provides a unique forum where researchers, librarians, practitioners, politicians, and other important stakeholders can discuss and exchange their Open Science practices, experiences, and strategies.
The thematic focus 2017 was on “open educational resources”. More than 220 experts for the digitisation of the science system, from 34 countries, met in Berlin on 21 and 22 March 2017 to talk about incentives for Open Science, infrastructures for research data, and Open Educational Resources.
The conference addressed the scientific, practical and political dimensions of the European Open Science Cloud. The scientific and library community presented concrete Open Science practices and applications, strategies, and policy recommendations for the implementation of the European Open Science Cloud.
The International Open Science Conference was organized by ZBW – Leibniz Information Centre for Economics and the Leibniz Research Alliance Science 2.0. Chair of the conference was Professor Klaus Tochtermann, ZBW – Leibniz Information Centre for Economics.
