After months of the controller flashing "BIND" when I powered it on, and therfor being useless, I figured out it was due to a faulty "trainer" switch thanks to YouTube user CoolHandLuke43.
I figured the switch was permanently closed, which was easy to fix, see the video!
Note that this will make your controller useless for a flight trainer.
