"Fast Answers" presents the reason why the famous computer company chose the name, "Apple."
Why Is Apple Named Apple?
(Que Title)
When it comes to ipods, iphones, and itouches and, oh yeah, the macintoshes, you may have noticed this little symbol. What is it? It’s an Apple with a huge bite on the side. Making the symbol look delicious.
But, wait! This symbol is more appropriate for a fruit company or a company that sales apples. Yea.
But, no, Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak wanted to name their company Apple and not Bannana or Disk Drive or The Electric Company or Strawberries!
So...why?
According to OSXDaily.com
The reason why this guy (steve jobs) and that guy (steve wozniak) decided on the name Apple is because Steve Jobs spent some time working on Apple orchards. And, while he was also on a “fruitarian diet.” He thought the name, “Apple” was fun, simple and not intimidating.
(According to excerpts from the WSJ and AP, after some time spent working on apple orchards in that state, he was in the midst of a “fruitarian diet” and thought the simple name was “fun, spirited, and not intimidating“, the rest, of course, is history.)

Also the buisness insider website says that, as a tease to his former employee Atari, Steve Jobs mentioned that the name Apple would appear before the famous video game company in, well, phone books.
(We kept thinking of other alternatives to that name, and we couldn't think of anything better."
Adds Jobs: "And also remember that I worked at Atari, and it got us ahead of Atari in the phone book.")

Oh, and one more thing, according to CNN.com. the reason why there is this huge bite on the Apple logo is so that people won’t mistake the symbol as a cherry when it becomes downsized. And, It’s there for scale! According to the man who drew the logo, Rob Janoff.
