A little bit of footage from an enjoyable day out in LFA17. A nice variety of aircraft on a very hot day in the Lake district.
I ran into the ongoing problem that I am having with the GH5 when fast panning. The footage becomes very jumpy (much worse than I have experienced with other cameras- canon 5DMK4, Canon 7DMK2, Panasonic VX870 4K camcorder). All the above cameras do suffer from the same thing but nowhere near as pronounced as it is with the GH5. The warp stabiliser in Premiere Pro just makes a mess of the footage if I try to correct in post. I think it is being caused by the image stabiliser in camera/lens so next time I will try shooting with everything switched off.
The Tornado and Tucano sections were filmed with the Panasonic 100/300 Mk2 lens and I swapped over to the Canon 100-400 Mk2 lens with a Metabones 0.64 XL for the Hercules footage. That footage didn't actually look as bad to me.
