The lens is 235 grams in weight with a 49mm lens filter thread. It's made with 7 elements, 6 groups. The aperture goes from f/1.4 to f/22. The minimum focus is around 45cm. The lens is a great normal lens that's versatile due to the range of the aperture. Some prefer the Pentax-A version over this Pentax-M lens, but both are fast and great in low light situations.

This lens was purchased with some other K mount prime lenses from a 135mm telephoto lens to zoom lenses and a wide angle lens for a 35mm Pentax MX SLR camera. It was bought for very cheap and in great condition. These has been the case frequently with the lenses bought used for sale that are featured on the channel here. Many are sold by the original owner that have been stored for decades and in pristine condition. Things to look for include dust, fungus and obvious scratches on the front and rear lens elements. These are common with older lenses that weren't taken care of properly. This wasn't the case with this lens and it's obvious from the video clips seen here.
On forums and photography sites, this lens is a legend and a coveted one by many photographers and even those using it for video. The fast f1.4 is great in low light and to capture that shallow depth of field isolating the subject of the photos. The bokeh is very pleasing and the sharpness is well regarded when compared to other Pentax lenses. This Pentax-M lens is a great fast lens that is affordable, so there are many new photographers that will be looking for this lens to adapt for newer DSLR cameras or compact system cameras. This has definitely been a great lens to shoot with for both the 35mm camera with its standard normal focal length as well as on the digital camera body for micro four thirds which makes the lens a 100mm effective with the crop factor. Many say they like that sharpness, bokeh, fast aperture and excellent image IQ stopped down.
