Phew it's been a while.

I was wearing my Pentecost-red silk skirt to work
And singing the psalms they said
Would bring me a lifetime
Of love and protection
Of peace and direction
I was leaning my weight on the lectern, so I wouldn’t faint
Half way through the Hallelu-
Jahs, when it hit me
I need out so badly
But I want to be here too
Go back to bed my darling
I’m just taking care of something
That I need to do
To get rid of every morsel of you.
Cause there’s a feeling that comes from my sides
Deep in my spine
That tells me to purge myself
Of all that I love
Of all that I need
To just live and breathe
And I’ll never be whole again
Till I’m in control again.
I know-
It won’t come easily,
So I won’t try too hard.
And of course,
I know it’s complicated
That’s why I keep it understated
But if to you it’s all the same
I hope you’ll accept
You’re not without blame.
I was wearing pyjamas to bed
And I hadn’t drank enough.
And I was in the arms of someone I trusted.
Now I’ll never trust again.
Go back to bed my darling
I’m just taking care of something
That I need to do
To get rid of every morsel of you.
