On February 28TH, Anderson County Fire and Rescue along with Anderson County EMS and the Sheriff's Department were dispatched to a truck that had gone into the Salt River near Bond's Mill Road. The occupant had jumped from the vehicle before it went into the river. Upon arrival, Battalion Chief Harrod established command and spotted the vehicle going down the river. Chief Mike Barnes arrived and took over command. EMS verified that the truck was unoccupied and begain to treat the driver. The truck can be seen approaching the lowhead dam. After it went over it was caught in the hydraulics and was cycled until it sank.
