Pileated Woodpeckers sounds and calls close-up. Three of them made a rare and exciting visit to the backyard. I got an extended capture of a male - the real "Woody Woodpecker". The other two - one of which was a female made continuous calls for about 5 minutes while the male calmly pecked for food. They are probably a family unit. Very few birds get me as excited as the sudden raucous appearance of the Pileateds!
