The Planck satellite has been scanning the entire sky around itself to produce a full sky map of the Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB). The map shows the wisps and tendrils of dust and gas within our Galaxy as well as the subtle pattern of the Cosmic Microwave Background, which is a relic of the Big Bang. This primordial radiation reveals the first seeds that developed into the large scale structures of galaxies seen today.
