The pressure is applied through the seal diaphragm (Functional diagram) and the filling liquid to the silicon pressure sensor whose measuring diaphragm is then flexed. This changes the resistance of the four piezo-resistors fitted in the diaphragm in a Wheatstone bridge circuit.
