After patiently waiting for a clear day, on 1st February 2018 the Quelima SQ12 was tested in full sunlight at a beautiful new spot in the English countryside. The results were amazing for a $10 camera especially after the duplicate frames and colour saturation were rectified after editing and rendering on Adobe Premier Pro. I am no expert but I think that the result is much better than the stock output which is choppy and lacking colour.
Despite the extremely strong wind my ViFly R130 quad on a Tattu 650mah 4S held up well to the challenge along with the 22 gram camera and mount. I am still loving the micro drone, ViFly R130 so have put off upgrading to the larger ViFly X150 with an aim build my next one if I get some time.
The footage was filmed in 720p at 30fps and the output was amended only by removing duplicate frames and changing the colour saturation. I can live with a black sun but may eventually investigate how to remove it and also play around with the colour some more. In the video I was still using the camera mount provided with the Quelima SQ12 which resulted in some jello but I that subsequently with some Bluetac. I am now waiting for my new cheap camera mount to arrive from China so I can get the weight down to around 15g! Despite the little bump/crash at the end the ViFly and Quelima were absolutely fine. Is there are hawkeye firefly vs quelima sq12 comparison or sq12 vs sq13 fpv comparison? Or a SQ13 Review? Is there a firmware update for the SQ12? Just imagine a 1080p 60fps camera that can also be used as fpv. (Edit: here comes the caddx turle v2 (edit)) What song is this?
If of interest, this video’s hd footage can be compared in the link below with the raw footage taken on the ViFly 600 VTL fpv camera:

If you need to know how to update or remove the date/time stamp on the Quelima SQ12 or Quelima SQ13: The camera will write a text-file to the sd card and you can update the date accordingly (20150101235530 / yyyymmddhhmmss) with a text editor. If you want to remove the date timestamp completely on your footage simply change 'Y' to 'N' (No) and save to sd card. Remember when deleting photos to free up space make sur eyou do not reformat the card otherwise you will have to go through these steps again.
FPV Freestyle Equipment Used: (not the firefly or Quelima SQ13 which are available now and are no better quality. The Runcam Split is the micro hd fpv camera to beat if you can get a good runcam split mount)
