First session with a project boat built to try a construction method new to me, Carbon/Glass over foam. It was never meant to be run, but I got so far with it I figured I'd might as well see if it worked There's some stills at the end of the vid so you can see it better.
The very first launch lasted five seconds, having flipped it on the turn fin by hard turning the wrong way. My bad, and too far to see it on the vid, so this is the first run without my Dunce hat on :-). Conditions were not good, bitter cold winds and threatening rain. This is on Dartmoor, a place where you feel the weather.
The boat was built without plans, just as an experiment using certain properties a much bigger project boat will have (in line twins four times the size of this one). All parts were manufactured, bar engine radio and fuel tank, from scratch. Decor is all paint, no decals.
The plan now is to correct some torque twisting with hull mods, then double the engine power. But that will come in time, I'm off to make the boats that this exercise was for.
