Hey RC addicts! Here's a maiden flight video of my new foam cardinal (epp or fff eagle from RCGroups). It's the version with the 3 layer, laminated wing. All parts were cut from Dollar Tree RediBoard. Plans from RCGroups were scaled down 50% from full size (56'' wing) to make a 28'' model. From the initial printing of the plans to the maiden flight, I'd estimate a total of 8-10 hours for the entire effort. The flight characteristics speak for themselves. Very gentle glides with no harsh tendencies whatsoever. This build does NOT need ailerons, inverted stabilizer or any other add-ons of any kind. Simple V-tail with 2 servos is plenty for excellent, well balanced control.
