First and random (not optimized, no special focus) receiving results (in the Netherlands, central) of frequencies around 3 MHz with the “very basic 2 transistor radio for AM”. On 13.18 I suggest: 3 MHz for that Russian radio station, but of course it will be (with the rod sticked in completely) much lower, say lower than 2 MHz.
The setup was not made specially for frequencies higher than 2 MHz, but anyway, I wanted to try it.
I now used another antenna coil that worked around 2-3 MHz.
Could receive more stations and with a better quality. Received: radio Roemenia, Radio China and a Russian (?) station. More info & tips in the video.
Forgotten to tell but very important (not done here, could have given better results!): make the antenna coil with (say) 3 taps and connect the (indoor) antenna via a 14 pF capacitor on the lowest tap for more selectivity; the selectivity will raise substantially.
Selectivity and possibilities to receive radio stations on Shortwave (say higher than 2 or 3 MHz) vary during the day, the evening (sunset) and the night! Has to do with ionospheric/atmospheric layers. Of course also where you live/work on earth (distance to the radio transmitter).
Fading and atmospheric conditions do not regard (much) the 600 KHz-1,8 MHz band, the frequency band for which this radio setup was made and when you use this setup for a radio receiver for strong local stations.

Please note: best results 600 KHz-1,8 MHz, selectivity gets critical above 2 MHz. Though: the radio can be developed (optimized) for one specific radio station (or a few, broadcast frequencies close together) up to 4,5 MHz.

Regarding all my video’s: I constantly keep them actual, so the original video’s with the most recent information are always on YouTube. That is the source, and search there. When my video’s are reproduced or re-edited on other websites/channels you can not (!) be sure about the original content (=really working electronics with real properties for a purpose) and important adaptations to the circuits.
Be aware of that, I saw on the internet my circuits reproduced in a poor or not proper way.
I also found that people probably republish my circuits under phantasy names and/or with phantasy properties, not knowing electronics. Sometimes they want to find gold with them. I take distance from all these fake claims; I cannot help that it happens, sorry. Upload 27 september 2019.
