Apple just released tvOS 9.1 and in that release they have given us the option to use the Remote App on our iPhones and iPads to navigate through Apple TV menus and more importantly to text input from the Remote App instead of using the keyboard layout provided in the Apple TV. THANK YOU APPLE!
