Finally! I get to have my own warbird start-up video! I waited for an hour after the airshow ended to hear the mighty R-2800 of the P-47D. I'm a big fan of the rhythm of a round engine.
I apologize for the shaky camera work during the takeoff roll; I was shooting at max zoom on an uneven grandstand without the aid of a tripod. Also I missed the low pass the pilot made after the takeoff. I had a feeling I should turn the camera on, but dismissed it thinking with the airport active again, he would make a standard departure. Such a shame, too, because you could hear the beautiful turbo whine this huge engine makes.
