Our app, RescueRoute, won 2nd place in the API category! For those keeping score at home, this is the second year in a row our team has come in second at this event! (Always the bridesmaid, eh?)
Using the Qualcomm's Gimbal to pinpoint interior locations, and a smartphone app or Sensoria smart fabric to trigger an alert, RescueRoute uses Philip's color-changing Hue lighting to provide real-time, interior routing through a structure so first responders could get to an emergency without stopping for directions and without needing a HUD or Google Glass. (sadly, the way this video was shot doesn't show the strobing Hue lights)
The team included Slalom's Walt Austin, Jeremy Lizza, Aaron Berk, Basil Udoudoh and Jeremy Duvall from the Custom Development practice, JD Jordan from the User Experience practice, and Elizabeth Decker, a freelancer recruited at the event.
