A young man, bottle in hand, goes for a test drive with his late father's restored car on a deserted road. The car hits a young woman, he realises she is not badly injured and offers to take her back home. When he reaches his destination, the past suddenly catches up with him.
I shot this film for SF3 film festival which was held this year at Sydney Opera House.
Happy to say we took home two awards, Best Cinematographer (Rah Sharma) and Best Actor (Nadim Accari)
So it all started while having a few drinks and thinking what would it be like if we filmed an entire short on a mobile phone.
First option available was my iPhone x, at that time it was new, now its a little .. mm
We drone almost four hours to get to location to film. It was entire team work. We had three car loads of people being moved.
All the postproduction was done within 48 hours and everyone contributed for ADR session.
I was amazed to see how Teamwork flowed really well on this one set.
As soon as I submitted this film to SF3 film Festival, I had a invitation to go to Germany for an expo, Photokina.
My entire Germany trip got quite quick and rushed for me to get back is the film Festival was on 1 October.
After a 27 hour flight, been completely jetlag, came to the moment where I was seeing this short film that we shot on a mobile phone being played at Sydney Opera house.
And there we go, I present to you a short film, Restoration.
