http://www.theendlessroadtrip.com ~ another remarkable feature of acadia national park are the carriage roads that criss-cross the east side of the island. mr. rockefeller had these built in the 30s so that he could bring his guests into the interior of the island with relative ease. now, they are used for hiking and biking and horseback riding and they are sooo fun!
