These are the footage (refer to other link as well) I managed to capture on my dvr from today’s FutureMe Aerial Race Event held at The Float, Marina Bay, Singapore. I managed to make the cut for top 16 pilots to battle it out in the knockout round. However, I crashed in the first round. I’m not too beat up about it after all my mentality was already set from the beginning mainly to have fun and test my piloting skills. Here’s the rundown from today’s heat:
Practice Run 1: I was getting a feel on what the track is like getting familiar with the track. However there was video signal issues which made me miss quite a few of the air flags and gates in the beginning. This was caused by my quad running LHCP antennas while the ground station was setup using RHCP
Practice Run 2: I forgot to press record on the dvr
Qualifying 1: Changed out my antennas and tried my best to go as fast as I can around the track. I clocked the fastest time in qualifying at 22.4 seconds
Qualifying 2: Having to already set a decent lap time, I decide to go easy on this one and practice my race line
Knockout Round 1: I was not able to replicate the performance from my previous heat and end up crashing lol.
All in all it was an awesome exprience having to make new friends and look at latest fpv miniquad components in person. Also being able to fly a track setup that I only watch on youtube before this.
Alhamdulillah, thanks to Allah SWT for granting me this opportunity to go this far to pursue this hobby, my wife Nisa Halim and my son Aizil Adam for their support and understanding my passion for this hobby. The two mentors from G11 Miniquadclub Madee and Azlan ‘Kedek’ for helping me to develop the racing mentality haha. Pilots from FPVBN who went on this trip Marul, Yule, Shafique & especially Munchui who showed faith in my piloting and offering me a place in Team Rival. Local FPVBN pilots who continue to push hard with their piloting.
Local SG Pilots, thank you so much for the hospitality especially Zacky, LHP, Rozani and OneGlove. Pleased to make your acquaintance. Till next time guys!
