Footage is of the new Runcam Split. For those that haven't heard, Runcam has come out with a FPV camera setup that also records 1080P footage simultaneously on an SD Card. A general PRO vs. CON assessment below:
Pro:
1. Allows for HD Footage without the added weight of GoPro/Mobius
2. HD Footage stored to SD card.
3. Relatively easy install. GND/5V/SIGNAL
4. FPV cam is quality. Nice metal case.
5. When the quad is powered up, the HD footage is recording.
6. Easily download HD footage via USB cable
Cons:
1. Low profile builds would be difficult with this setup.
2. Ribbon Cable from FPV Camera to the control board is a point of failure.
3. Wifi module and supporting mobile software buggy
4. HD Footage will contain any vibrations in the quad.
When viewing the footage, note that the quad is completely stock PIDS. I presume that has something to do with the bit of jello. I will tune the quad up and do some more recording. Image looks pretty dang good to me. I didn't notice any latency issues personally.
