This is a product review and water test for S100 Carnauba Paste Wax. The test car was prepped using Meguiar's M205 finishing polishing followed up with an IPA wipedown. S100 was allowed a 24 hour time period before wetting the car for the water baseline test.
S100 can be found at many of the online detailing retail websites or locally at any of your Harley Davidson Motorcycle Dealerships here in the U.S. for around $17 for the 6.2oz jar. It does come included with a small foam applicator pad.
S100 goes on really smooth and comes off easily as well. You do not have to wait for the wax to dry or haze before removing. This wax will also not leave any white staining on your trim, and it will buff off clean without any powdery residue left behind. A little bit of wax goes a long way.
As you can see from the water test, it does appear to have a slight drop in the water behavior after going over the car with soap. In between 1 to 2 months you should start thinking about reapplying the wax to your paint.
This is a popular paste wax among detailing enthusiasts. The parent company that produces S100 products is P21S, who also produces the R222 equivalent line if you're overseas in Europe. S100 is specifically marketed here in the U.S. towards the motorcycle industry, but any products that you can use on your bike you can also use on your car as well.
There have been some side by side tests to see if S100 Carnauba Paste Wax is exactly the same as P21S Concours Carnauba Wax which costs over double the price, and the general consensus is that if there is a difference, it's really too small to accurately detect. This makes S100 a great option at the price range it's offered at.
I've never tried out P21S Concours Wax for myself, I've used their 100% Paste Wax extensively and really enjoyed working with that wax. That is their more expensive paste wax offering that has a better smell compared to S100, but S100 appears just as easy to work with and leaves a great shine behind. Eventually I'd like to try and have a video comparing all three of them when I get my hands on the other two.
Overall, if you're someone that loves working with paste waxes, then definitely check out S100, you should not be disappointed.
