Person hit by Amtrak's Surfliner heading into San Diego with passengers aboard. Hits a person on the tracks near Baker St, stops at Gesner 1/4 mile away. The train was going approx 70 mph an hour when it hit the man.
Video shows SDSO talking to female Engineer, her showing the deputies where the train struck the pedestrian. The AMTRAK crew being changed out. SDSO investigating the scene.
As the Engineer passed by me. I asked her "Are you okay?" She said " Yes, thank you....this is the second one in ten days". There was a suicide in North County 10 days ago.
