Every year I road trip from the Bay Area down to San Diego to visit extended family. I always drive I-5 (or "the 5" for you So Calers) because it's fast and a straight shoot down the state. However, it's hella boring with mostly third rate amenities. Over the years I've scoped out all of my favorite "best of" pit stops that I'll share with you along the way.
