End of January 2014 we started our once in a lifetime trip through Saudi Arabia. We spent two weeks exploring the country, collecting fascinating impressions of an otherwise very closed country. The trip covered around 6,000km, most of the time away from civilization. We came across plenty of unexpected locations, sights and situations. The main objective was to travel on the Hejaz railway that has been built from 1900-1908 and been destroyed already during the first world war. The railway itself is from the border to Jordan down to Medina almost all the way drivable and there are plenty of old trains still laying around.
