My first multi-rotor craft build all from HobbyKing parts.
Total cost: $250 for quad and 2 3S 2200mAh LiPos
Radio is a Futaba T9VAP with a FlyDream module. Runtime on one battery with moderate use is around 7 minutes. Control software on the quad is a port of the awesome Arducopter software called MegaPirateNG.
During this video, I start in the default "Stabilize" flight mode. Then, I go into "Altitude Hold," which uses a barometer on the board to keep the quad at the selected altitude by controlling the throttle. Finally, its into "Position Hold," also known as "GPS Hold" or "Loiter". This uses the GPS and barometer to best keep the quad in the selected spot in space of Lat, Long, and Alt.
