Pre-selling a product can be a great way of creating buzz and attention for your upcoming product.
However, the question is how do you take pre-orders for something that might not be ready yet? How do you pre-sell a movie, or song, or ebook?
In this video we’ll look at the 4 step process on SendOwl to pre-selling and taking pre-orders for an upcoming product.
Step 1: Create a new product using a 'holding' or 'temporary' file. Typically this will be a branded PDF containing details of the final release.
Step 2: The buyer, your customer, pre-orders the product. They receive the 'holding' file so they know what to expect.
Step 3: When ready, update the existing product and replace the holding file with the final product. Note we're not creating a new product, but updating the existing one. This will also allow you to send an email to the pre-order customers informing them the final product is ready.
Step 4: The customer clicks the download link in the update email and downloads the final product.
