Shabina S. Khatri is an American journalist freelancing in Doha, Qatar. She has her hands in several blogs, both professional and personal, including Twitter ( http://twitter.com/dohanews ) and Global Voices Online ( http://globalvoicesonline.org/-/world/middle-east-north-africa/qatar/ ). While in the Gulf, Khatri has reported on Doha's struggle to transform from a tiny desert
peninsula that imports everything into the region's premier cultural, political and economic hub. Born and raised in suburban Detroit, Khatri has previously worked as an
editor/reporter for the Wall Street Journal and a reporter for the Detroit Free Press.
Though a jack of many trades, she is master of some, with strengths in business, higher education and religion reporting.

ictQATAR hosted Mudawanat: All About Blogging on December 12th, 2009 where the audience heard from leading bloggers and blog experts from around the region and the world & explored why blogs are an incredibly effective way to communicate - for individuals, businesses, governments and not-for-profit organizations alike. The event also stressed that anyone can be a blogger - and an effective one at that!
