This Virgin Atlantic 747 was seconds away from take off when ATC cancelled the clearance. A British Airways A321 was on approach and coming through thick fog when they were instructed to go around, it was probably less than a minute away from touch down.
The 747 had just about done his 30 second engine run up when ATC cancelled the take off clearance (1:18). The Jet had just released brakes and moved a very short distance before stopping abruptly.
Does this count as a take off roll, albeit a very short one? If not, why not? All comments appreciated.
After a short while to prepare again, the 747 advises ATC he's now ready to depart and a second take off clearance is given. This actual take off is shown from two cameras to illustrate the very low cloud ceiling.
